If Life Gives You Lemons...
Get them sliced, popped in a freezer bag and let your icebox do its duty. Next time you're pouring a no doubt well deserved G&T, forgo the ice and reach for the frozen lemon slices instead. They'll flavour, garnish and cool without diluting your measure as they melt. The juicer the lemon the better so choose Sicilian or Amalfi lemons, if you can. They are pricier but one taste and you'll understand why. When it comes to lemons, Italians definitely do it better.
Another personal favourite, and often easier to come by, are lemons from Murcia in Spain, an example from Waitrose pictured above. Although often not as big as their Italian cousins, they tend to be a little cheaper and yield a lot of juice so freeze up nicely. Chin-chin ladies!
